Welcome, Winter. Your late dawns and chilled breath make me lazy, but I love you nonetheless. ~Terri Guillemets
In the time between Christmas and January 1st, I found myself in awe of the quiet that winter represents....especially after all the busyness of the holidays. I started thinking that maybe winter is my favorite season. (I know......I live in California).
It feels like I spent a month saying "after the first of the year... fill in the blank.....". Now here it is, and all I want to do, is crawl back under the covers of winter.
I am not ready to start "getting things done" like I usually am at the beginning of a new year. This should be my "word of the year" post with reflections of the past year feeling deep and meaningful. But instead........I want to savor the simple beauty of bare branches, warm drinks and early dark nights.
While I don't desire to sleep through the winter, a form of hibernation sounds very appealing.
Maybe next week I will be ready to "get going" or maybe not........
