A Meditation

After doing some research I have decided that I will probably self publish the "Flower Book" (still working on a good title) with Blurb. This online publisher has been around awhile and has a good reputation.

A couple of months ago I purchased a "Groupon" for $45 worth of Blurb publishing that expired on Wednesday. I decided to use this to create a rough draft of the book. It ships next week, so I will keep you posted...........

While working on one of the introductory pages, I was searching for words to explain what I experienced and loved about photographing flowers. A poem emerged. I am not sure where it came from because I don't think I have written one since high school, but here it is, in all it's "rough draft" glory:

A Meditation

I lose myself in the beauty of flowers

The clock no longer matters

Light illuminates and enters my soul

The shutter clicks, satisfaction lingers

Joy and passion

I am happy

  3. Dianne--I love how your art and the craft of your art have moved you to words. The poem and the book seem a natural response, a kind of filling up and spilling over of all you have done in the darkroom and the easel. The flower is luscious--hope to see it Saturday!
